Email vs Facebook News Feed
Once you start expanding your network or creating your own team, you'll need to share your content. The two well-known and widely used platforms to share messages are Facebook and email. As new trends come and go, email remains the most powerful channel. Facebook boasts over 1 billion active users, While the total number of worldwide email accounts was 3.9 billion in 2013 and is projected to reach 5 billion by 2024. So, when it comes to connecting to your prospects, there's no channel with a wider reach than email. In contrast, Facebook's organic reach has dropped from 16% in 2012 to as low as 2% in 2018. The global average delivery rate of email is approximately 90% for 2022 and is trending upward. Social media comes a distant second place. The reason for this has to do with social media algorithms: users don't see every single post, tweet, or pin from the people they follow. First, 90% of email gets delivered to the intended recipient's inbox, whereas only 2% of your Facebook fans see your posts in their News Feed. This is because Facebook limits the number of times your posts appear in the News Feed to drive brands towards their paid advertising options.

Facebook Messenger
You can efficiently use your friends' network to send direct messages on Facebook. While only about 2% of your friends will see your posted messages, practically all of them will receive your direct messages. Facebook allows you to add 150 recipients to a single message. If you have more than 150 friends, you'll have to create multiple messages to reach everyone. To send a direct message on Facebook on a computer:

  • Click "Messenger" on the left menu from the "Home" page.
  • Start a new message.
  • Start typing a name into the "To" field. Names of friends will appear.
  • Select the person you want to message.
  • Type your message, then press enter or send.
You can also click "Message" at the top of someone's profile to message them. You can even send a message to anyone on Facebook, regardless of their friend status.

The best strategy to build your network and create your team is to use both email and Facebook:

  • Send your email message to all your friends and other people you know. You may expect about 90% of them will see it.
  • Send your message using Facebook Messenger. Most of your friends, fans, and followers will see it.
  • Post your message on your Facebook News Feed. Only about 2% of people will see it.
